More About the Lone Fox:
She was designed and built for Colonel. Whitbread, of Whitbread Breweries (Scotland). The Colonel. was the original sponsor of the Whitbread Round the World Race - now known as the Volvo Round the World Race.
She is 65 feet long, 13'8" wide, and 8'2" deep, with a 38 ton displacement. The complete restoration of the vessel was completed in 2000 and since then it has had a rigorous, attention to detail, maintenance schedule. She is a true classic yacht with a full keel. Her lines are flowing and her movement through the water is elegant and graceful. She is quite fast for a traditional mono hull as evidenced by her winning performance in all the events she is entered. She won the San Francisco Master mariners Regatta in 2000 and 2001. She placed second in the Antigua Classic Regatta 2003 and 2007.
Most recently we won our class in Antigua and both class and overall first place in the St Maarten Classic for 2008. This summer we are fitting her out with new sails and expect to have even greater sailing enjoyment in coming years. Responses from our guests, both for day and term charters have been glowing commentaries on the vessel itself as well as the service of our crew. |
