Ferry Services to and from St Barts

There are two ferry services serving St Barts, both of which are based on Sint Maarten/St Martin, the nearest large island.

The Voyager Ferry for St Barts

Based on the French Side of St Martin, and departs from either Marigot (crossingSt Barts Voyager Ferry time 75 minutes), or Oyster Pond (crossing time 45 minutes).

Departure times vary according to season, and day of the week, however as a rule of thumb, for people flying longhaul into Sint Maarten to connect to St Barts, the 6:45 pm departure from Marigot is the most likely option. Crossing time is around one hour and fifteen minutes.

The Great Bay Express Ferry for St Barts

St Barts Ferry Great Bay is based on the Dutch side of Sint Maarten, the Great Bay Express Ferry has a departure at 5:30pm which, combined with the shorter crossing time of 45 minutes, makes for a very convenient connection. It is also a shorter distance away from Juliana International Airport, and has facilities nearby, shopping, cafés, restaurants, should you arrive early.

You can check in early, leave your luggage in their offices and collect them before departure.

As with the Voyager Ferrry if you are taking Premium IV's VIP Arrival and Departure Service we will be more than happy to book the ferry for you.

Having met you on arrival at Juliana at Premium IV will also organise your transport between the airport and ferry port, will meet you on arrival on St Barts, having coordinated your arrival with your St Barts Villa or Hotel Greater and your St Barts car rental company.

The Rapid Explorer Ferry for St Barts

While we get many requests for this ferry, unfortunately the Rapid Explorer is no longer in service between St Barts and Sint Maarten.
